The wife and I are enjoying a very nice relaxing 25th anniversary week here at Grayton beach. Just wondering if any fellow forum members are here this week?
Not there but wondering what you think of the park. We stay at TopSail or Henderson Beach, but gave thought about staying at Grayton. We'll be at Henderson on the 25th.
Love the park. Nice Sites we are in the new loop this trip that is full hookup. The old loop is very nice with alot of shade and very private sites. The old loop is just Eletric and water only. It's about 1/2 mile to the gulf. The new loop sites are semi private but spaced apart enough that your not right on top of your neighbor. We were here last year at the same time and are considering coming back in November. We have considered Henderson beach but it's hard to get in stays full. Hope this helps we really like Grayton as it in between Destin and Panama City beach out of the hustle and bustle.
We stayed at St. Andrews the week of March 10, 2015 this year for our 30th wedding anniversary. Christmas week 2014 we stayed at Port St. Joe. Christmas week 2013 we stayed at Falling Waters. In March we visited Grayton, Henderson, and TopSail. Christmas week 2015, we already have reserved a spot at Florida Caverns.
We not at Grayton right now, but our thoughts are with you! That's a NICE park!
Thanks for the thoughts we are riding down to St Andrews in the morning to check out the campground. We use to go there alot but it has been at least 5 years. We are going to check out some sites that are open thanksgiving week and then make a decision on which park to stay at that week
I'm a host at St. Andrews right now Pine Barren. If I can answer any questions please look me up. My site is a host site right across the road from site 146. My site has a Camp Host sign in front between two host sites. I'm the 5th wheel.
We stayed at Grayton for a few nights last year during spring break. We like the location near Seaside. We also stayed in the new section, but would of preferred the older section if they had sewer hook ups. There was no shade in the new section and you were sitting on a site full of gravel unless you were at one of the sites by the bathhouse that was completely paved. We like Topsail, but the location of Grayton suited us better. We drove through Henderson and like the privacy of the sites, but once again, all gravel and no sewer. And we didn't care for it's location.
Grayton Beach is the pits!!! Don't go there around Thanksgiving!!! Top Sail, Henderson are far better choices. But seriously, it is GREAT. I only said that to discourage people from making reservations. We're planning a stay over Thanksgiving, but am waiting for my DSL to get off her dear ars and confirm plans. We prefer the old loop and it's privacy. But we have a B and the smaller sites are not a problem.
We rode though St. Andrews today way to crowded for us. We then rode down to Henderson beach and checked it out. We got the last site they had available for thanksgiving week. We will be in site 57. Grayton is by far one of our favorite parks for the privacy. Yes the full hook up side is without alot of shade but we have the awning and the canopy so we have shade. The rocks don't bother us doesn't track as much dirt inside. The main thing is to get out and enjoy the parks and nature.
Our little dog has only got a couple on him this trip but they haven't been bad not like last year. We have been here since Monday and have a couple more days to go very nice park and the weather has been pretty nice always a nice breeze blowing
