    Okay, I'm jealous. :(

Did you happen to hike up to the Mt. LeConte lodge? Nice day hike.

Just starting to explore the hiking opportunities in that area, Mt. Leconte is on the list for next trip.

Did the Cascade Ramsey falls hike (8 miles round trip, pretty extreme toward the top):

We are endurance Mtn bike racers/riders, over on the Cherokee side, Lake Fontana has some great Mtn Biking, normally our activity of choice. Unfortunately GSMP does not allow Mtn Biking in the Natl Forest, but we understand from the perserving the land idea (although responsible trail upkeep, design, and usage can be achieved with Mtn Biking, just harded to keep in check) :E.

  • Nice pics! Glad to hear that you had a fun time and a safe trip. We have stopped going there because of the overcrowding, but the Smokies was one of our favorite destinations for about 30 years or so. By the by, my dogs always love what we call "the power sniff" too ;)
