There are so many campgrounds in this area it all depends on what you like. There is a new CG on TN 138 called Anchor Down. Opened this past March and it is Beautiful, located on Douglas lake and the views are stunning. Look them up on line. Another one we just looked at this past weekend is Smokey Mountain Premier resort (smprvresort.com)located on 321 near Cosby TN, Just opened like 3 weeks ago and can accommodate from class A to pop ups. BUT.... they are still working on it so there is some construction traffic (big dump trucks). Nice though. Both are located far enough from the craziness of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to make for a nice drive in to visit them if you want.
