Fort Pickens Campground of the Gulf Islands National Seashore is just off Pensacola. 50Amp sites are $26 per day - $13 with the Senior Pass. There is apparently an additional $8 per week vehicle access fee.

Davis Bayou Campground of the Gulf Islands National Seashore is located near Ocean Springs, MS - just across the bay from Biloxi. It is a first come/ first served campground for $22 per day / $11 senior pass.

Isaac Creek is a COE site on the Alabama River Lakes about an hour north of Mobile. 50Amp sites are $18 per day - $9 with the Senior Pass.

Eastbank on Lake Seminole Georgia is a COE site just north of Chattahoochee, FL. 50Amp sites are $22 per day - $11 with the Senior Pass.

Down into Florida there is the Salt Springs Campground in the Ocala National Forest, the three COE campgrounds on the cross Florida ICW Canal and the various campgrounds in the Everglades NP.

I haven't camped in any of these - but the COE sites look really good to me.

We have stayed at East Bank and it's nice.
Salt Springs is very busy this time of year and it's pretty far south.
check www.recreation.gov and type in a state and select view as map. That should help. Come on down to FL the weather's great!!

Not on the coast, Foscue Creek in Demopolis Al. Full hook ups $12 a day with seniors pass.

We have camped many times at Ft. Pickens--going back all the time to when it was a Florida State Park (1962). We have also stayed several times at Issac Creek while visiting friends in Monroeville, AL. Year before last we stayed at Salt Springs Campground in Florida. These are all excellent choices.

What is time limitation for staying?

Fort Pickens is National Park Service - 14 nights at a time - 2 nights out between stays - and no more than 14 nights between March 1 and Labor Day - no more than 42 nights in a year.

The COE sites are also 14 days - but you need to check with the individual CG - some allow longer stays in the cold weather months.

Salt Springs has a 180 day stay limit for some sites between Oct 15 and April 15 - but you can only reserve 21 days on-line. Currently the Salt Springs sites are all listed as walkup only. Need to call the park if you want to stay longer.

What I read is that it is very crowded this time of year.

There are a lot of seniors who do the 14 day shuffle between to COE campgrounds on the same lake. Burns Run East and Burns Run West are popular on Lake Texoma - about five miles apart and 50/W/S is $24 regular / $12 senior pass - 30 days camping for $360.

Some months the electric bill alone for my home near Dallas is that much.
