I got my AMEX card in the late 70's because it had to be paid off every month. I came from a family that did not believe in buying on the "never-never" and my father didn't had a credit card of any kind. The AMEX was fine until recent years then I was forced to get something else in case AMEX was not accepted. Credit cards can do a good job of helping to manage your finances if used right, especially for traveling. lizzie
