Dogs aren't welcome on Florida or Alabama beaches. We go to Texas Gulf coast for that reason. Gulf Waters resort on Mustang Island. Pricey but very nice.
There's several counties in Florida that allow dogs on the beach. Just not in the area this thread relates to.
In Venice area there is a dog beach, right on the Gulf, it's pretty big and very popular.

Dogs are not banned from Alabama beaches, just from many public beach areas and privately owned resorts. - Boxer_LoversExplorerSorry. Didn't see specific location. Gulf Waters is still nice though.
