Big Lagoon is a great state park but I don’t believe they have sewer hookups at the site necessitating a blue tote for a stay of a couple of weeks. Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores is excellent and I would give them a call just in case they have an opening for your time frame. There are a number of good RV parks in the area, the only one I wouldn’t recommend is the Southport Campground. The only good thing I can say about Southport is it’s on the Intercostal waterway. We thought it was a dump.
Lambert’s Café is a great place to eat and worth a visit. Lulu’s is worth a visit too but it is very popular so be ready for a wait to be seated. The Shrimp Basket is good for seafood and while it doesn’t look appealing on the outside, the food is very good. The Original Oyster House is very popular and will require a wait to be seated. I found the food at the Oyster House to be so-so. For Pizza try Papa Rocco’s and for a breakfast buffet try Hazel’s Nook.
