Thanks for the post - Used to visit Montgomery and Wetumpka all the time back in the day working for the Space Surveillance System north of Wetumpka... Always had my POPUP trailer with me but never knew about the Camp Ground at Gunter Hill... Did find a couple of great honky-tonks on the West side of Montgomery... We could draw an instant fight by saying "We're from Washington DC and are here to help" hehe... We most always had "BIG BOB" from Elmore Cnty with us tho and everyone knew him...
Will definitely check this out. We always ended up at various spots around Lake Martin and up in the High country along the Northern Border of ALA and GA.
