Big Katuna, you said you use RA to make reservations for Florida state parks 8-10 times a year. In those times you've made reservations, you've not once saw or checked to see what the cancellation fee is? That's on you.
As far as the check thing, I agree with others. You squirreled this up with not having the credit card anymore that it could be credited back to. You will have to wait for a check. 8 weeks? Maybe. But maybe not. It's probably just what they are told to tell you more than likely the wording is " it CAN take UP TO 8 weeks".
