We owned a Fl. Condo which we rented 1 week at a time. We required a $250 deposit to reserve. If canceled within 30 days of check-in we kept the $250. Did 2 things. Kept the deadbeats out (ones that wanted to rent but had trouble coming up with the money) and allowed us to get at least something if cancellation occurred. Sometimes we could re-rent the unit and sometimes it sat vacant. You are complaining about a small amount of money being charged and then you changed the playing field by cancelling the CC. If you did this to us, we would probably tell you tuff luck. Sue us for the refund. I feel the problem is ReserveAmerica needs to up the deposit and then keep it for cancellations.
