Wow. Tough crowd.
So I book eleven months out as that is the only way of possibly getting a site around Christmas/New Years. My 90 year old FIL has decided to pick now to climb into his death bed and yet somehow, I am a bad planner? Really?
I already said I KNEW the policies. I wasn't surprised, just don't like the policy. They also charge $17.75 to CHANGE a reservation to a different park. Is THAT fair? No loss of revenue, no credit card impact, just an arbitrary fee because they are the only game in town.
Try another park?
Many state parks are the only way to access MY STATE LAND, which I have paid TENS OF THOUSANDS IN TAXES FOR to Kayak, fish or hike. And BTW, I don't get any better consideration $ or policy for reservations as out of staters.
At least Pinellas County gives their residents a price break and can reserve farther out. And almost all of the county parks give in county residents a break.
And it isn't MY fault Harbor Freight's credit card system was hacked.
