I'm not looking for any official numbers. I'm just wondering what RV'ers have found in recent years.
Usually just a deposit, sometimes nothing at all. If you pay in full in advance, make sure you know what their cancellation policy is. I wouldn't agree to anything more than 1 night for cancellation with more than 2 weeks notice. Usually if you cancel within 24 hours you forfeit all your money. There's nothing worse than spending $1000 for 10 nights at a south Florida campground that you can't get to because you're broken down in north Florida.
Also, we've run into a fair number of private campgrounds deal only in cash and personal checks. This is usually well noted on a website or when you call to make a reservation.
