Headwaters Lodge & Cabins At Flagg Ranch

Has anyone stayed at the RV park this year? I understand they changed ownership recently. I wanted to stay at Colter Bay but they are booked. I have 43' 5er with 4 slides and wasn't sure how big the sites are. All of the reviews are pretty old and some say the spots are tight.

I'm looking for a place near the Tetons. Looks close. Hope that's the case.
  • After 4 months of calling daily I finally got reservation for 7/5-7/7 at Colter Bay. Looks like a nicer park. Not real happy about their no grills at the campsite rule but I can live with it for 2 nights.
  • Flagg is just fine for the Tetons, even in a short timeframe. It's at the very north end of them.
  • I've got a while before I can use the old farts pass. Just turned 38 today. I'd rather not boondock if I can help it. Is Flagg ranch a long drive from the Tetons? I'm only staying 2 nights.

I stay at the Flagg Ranch area to see the southern part of Yellowstone, not the Tetons. Gros Ventre campground is a better choice for most of the Tetons. If you boondock PM me and I'll let you know where you can stay for $12 or $6 with a old fart's pass.
  • If you can't get into Flagg for any reason, you might go south to Gros Ventre campground. We went to Colter Bay last week and couldn't get in so went to Gros Ventre and had a very nice spot with a bunch of large trailers and motorhomes parked around us. We're only 30' so we didn't have a problem. However, if you need hookups, Gros Ventre won't work either as they have no full hook-ups.
