- sedwheathomeExplorerYes I was hoping to find campgrounds that have cabins & get best of both worlds w/o having to stay in hotel.
- Corky12ExplorerBeaver Lake Campground just west of Custer has cabins and tipis.
- Jim_ShoeExplorerX2 on the KOA in Custer, SD. About 45 miles south of I-90. I had a FHU Pull thru site with WIFI. I spent two full days in the Custer Museum. Actually, five museums in one building.
- MurphsmomExplorerWe stayed at Creekside Campground outside of Deadwood when we were there in May. They had cabins available, but since we had our trailer, we didn't check them out. I will say that the restrooms/showers were about the cleanest we have ever come across in a campground.
- dodge_guyExplorer IICheck out Horse Thief Campground just outside of Hillcity on Needleshighway! Nice place and they have cabins.
- Mortimer_BrewstExplorer III mentioned the Rafter J Bar Ranch has cabins in your other post. My advice would be to try and choose a centrally located place to stay and day trip out of there. Take a look at Google Maps before you make reservations. Some places with cabins are very close to the highway. The KOA nearest Mount Rushmore is a bit of a "cattle pen." Drive by it and you will know what I mean. The KOA near Custer is nicer but a little more out of the way. In any case the Black Hills is a big area, so allow time for driving. Get your reservations early!
- garyindaupehExplorerThe Roost just between Custer SD and Custer State Park is a nice little campground with several cabins which are very nice. It's a good location for touring the Black Hills and Custer State which is not to be missed!
- HorsedocExplorer IIBroken Arrow mile or so south of Custer. FHU great view of the Cathedral Towers up toward Sylvan Lake. Short drive to downtown for supplies. Sites are a bit small but the staff is first rate friendly. . . and they have ice cream socials
