Help For Grand Canyon

DH and I want to take our first trip to the Grand Canyon in our new 5'ver. I would like to ask for some help from those of you that have been there.

1. What time of year is best?
2. Where is the best place to stay?

Any additional information is welcomed! Thank you!

I love the north rim, too, but if you only have time to do one I would suggest the South Rim. There is much more to see of the canyon and many overlooks. They have a great transportation system. We go there every two/three years in May or Sept. Reservations are important. Trailer Village offers great access to everything plus full hookup. There is no ambience but you came to see the canyon not where you park your 5er. You will have a great time. It's an amazing place to see!
  • Mather campground in the park if you are under 30 ft. and don't mind dry camping. Trailer village in the park has hookups and can take any size rig. Both are on the shuttle route so you can park the TV. There are groceries near by in the park. Weather wise I have only been there in July. It was nice while we were there. Someone else may be better able to answer.
  • We want full hookups. From what I am seeing after doing a search here is Trailer Village on the south rim???

We haven't been to GC, Yet, but the first thing you're going to be asked is, what type of camping do you want to do, there are full hookups at Trailer Village, to no hookups at the others, like Mather. There are also commercial CG's to the south in Williams.
