Grand Canyon/Sedona

Ditto for Sedona.
For campgrounds search in RV Parks with the same words.

I can reccomend the following: Go to Williams. There is a campground or two there...and sign up for "The Train".
In fact, google "The Train"...south rim. They have a hotel, (park your RV in the hotel parking lot if you choose to stay in their hotel) 2 hour train ride (Very entertaining) up and back. 1 day, 2 days 3 days, etc....some meals included, a wild west show and well worth the price. (we signed up for 1 nite IN the canyon. Yavapi (sic) Lodge)
The "in the canyon" hotels are run by another company and the hardest part is scheduling both at the same time. Via phone.

We had dinner at the "Arizona Room" in the south rim...I have no idea if it is still there...but if it is, prepare for a treat. I don't know if it was the altitude, the pre-dinner drinks (had to wait an hour or so for a table), the good company, or a combination of all three...but it was the most memorable steak dinner we've ever had.

If you do this, bring a wad of 1 dollar bills. Everyone works on tips. Especailly the outlaws that hold up the train on the way back.

There is a campground, inside the Grand Canyon Park, at the south entrance. It's called Trailer Village. The shuttle stops at the campground entrance. You can self tour the south rim via the shuttle system. You should allow a minimum of 2 days, but 3 days would be better.

If you are lucky enough to get a place in Trailer Village, that's the only way to go. Otherwise, Williams, but drive up instead of the train (unless you are a train person). If you drive, you can spend the day, on the train, only two hours. Two hours to see Grand Canyon?? Takes longer than that for light to travel across the canyon!

The train beats you up, Trailer village is the way to go, the shuttle will take you everywhere. Woody Mountain RV park in Flagstaff is a nice place, you do hear a train in the distance though. We stayed outside of Sedona at Dead Horse State park, a very nice place. Have fun!

Do you tow a car?

I agree...stay in the Park. Sunrise and sunset provide beautiful lighting to the Canyon. You could exit the east road, then turn south on Hwy 89 and check out Bonito Campground, a nice Forest Service cg at the entrance to Sunset Crater Nat'l Monument. No hookups, but paved roads. It's a few miles north of the east end of Flagstaff.

The only RV park actually in Sedona is Rancho Sedona. Central location in natural trees by the creek, but a bit pricey. Dead Horse Ranch State Park in the nearby town of Cottonwood is also great. Or some people enjoy staying at Distant Drums RV Park along I-17 south of Sedona. That one is near a casino and Montezuma Castle Nat'l Monument.

When we did Grand Canyon, we stayed at Trailer Village. Then we went towards Sedona and stayed at Distant Drum RV Park. From DD RV Park we did Montezuma Castle and Red Rock SP and the areas around DD RV Park.

We did the grand canyon trip this summer. We stayed at the train and rv park in williams. We had a great time people were nice and the facility was great. I would go back again for sure.

Distant Drums RV Park would be a convenient place to stay while visiting Sedona and the Red Rock Counrty.

Cliff Castle Casino on the opposite side I-17 has a nice breakfast buffet on Wednesday morning for $3.50 for seniors with a Players Card.

Jerome, AZ is a must visit.(In a Car or truck, No big rigs)

Black Barts in Flagstaff is a great stay with steakhouse and lots of music from the kids working their way through college.
