I've found the
NY State camping guide booklet to be somewhat handy. You can download a PDF version if you don't like their reader thingy, though it's a bit hard to find that; the link is down towards the bottom of the page you get when you press the "download to desktop" toolbar button, which looks kind of like an arrow pointing down at a bed.
