If you have a big rig (the size isn't in your signature), then don't try for Bob Scott. We barely fit in the biggest site they had with our 40'.
There is a BLM campground at Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area just east of Austin that would take a 35' rig. There's also a rest area just beyond Hickison to the east and one at Eureka.
Your best bet is to stay around Fernley/Fallon area and head east and then another stop at Ely. There really isn't much inbetween unless you spot a place along side of the road for boondocking.
For fuel, the only places for easy access for a big rig would be in Fallon or Ely.
It's a beautiful drive but like it's slogan, it is lonely. Enjoy!
