- 04fxstsExplorerWe stopped at a WM in a subburb of Dallas with no signs but when I went in to check was informed of the city ordinance. Fine with WM but you will be fined if police notice you parked. Got on phone to another WM farther down the road and same thing. Had to get a fair distance before finding it allowed. Jim.
- FULLTIMEWANABEExplorerIf you find a WalMart lot that's not posted 'no overnight parking' I suspect you'll be fine. If it's got signs banning overnight parking I'd suggest moving on.
There are not always signs. Can't remember the name of the town but we pulled into a Walmart in Washington, along with several other RVers and around midnight two WM employees knocked on everyone's doors to say "stay with our blessing but ....." warned us all that their will be by law officers around issuing fines, not just warnings. When we queried why no City Ordinance By law signs not put up they told us all that it was because they wanted to be able to fine folks.
First and only time we've encountered this but .......... just saying don't assume unless you don't mind being disturbed during the night. - braindead0Explorer

That one is on the list of No RV parking locations. I know the WalMart near me has signs prohibiting overnight parking due to city municipal code suspect Sparks is the same however haven't checked.
Just an FYI, there's a Wal Mart on Pyramid Highway in Sparks, about 5 miles off I 80
Here's the section of RMC that I believe they are using to prohibit overnight RV parking:Sec. 8.22.035. - Nuisances per se defined.

Using any mobile home, recreational vehicle or vehicle for dwelling or sleeping purposes outside of a mobile home park, mobile home subdivision or recreational vehicle park.
So far I'm unable to local the specific code Sparks may be using to ban overnight parking. As you can see it's prohibited simply by being a nuisance per se, code enforcement would have to receive a complaint about it first. I suspect that some casinos are ignoring this, however I've heard that they have been warned by the city some years ago.

- braindead0ExplorerYou'll want to check ahead on GSR. The parking lot is often used for car and RV 'shows'.
North of Reno CA side right off i395 you could overnight here: 39.909618, -120.010709 fairly close to the highway however it's free camping on BLM land. - webrxExplorerGrand Sierra Resort also has RV parking
There is a KOA by Cabelas on 80 just on the Nevada side of the border (exit 4 I believe)
On 395 North near the CA border there is Bordertown RV Resort
There are several National forest campground in and around Reno also some in NV and some in California.
Not sure which way you are going, but google is you friend for these. - CordeliaExplorerI just spent Wed. & Thurs. night in the Atlantis, Reno parking lot (RV parking is on the very west end of the west parking lot, you can access the Casino via the sky bridge).

You will probably not want to drive an RV/trailer to the Nugget or Rail City. The roads around there are pretty cramped, and the parking lots aren't all that big.
Baldini's on Rock Blvd is probably a better choice, straight shot off the highway. I haven't confirmed that you can park there, so might want to double check that.
Looks like you can park at Baldini's - braindead0ExplorerYou will probably not want to drive an RV/trailer to the Nugget or Rail City. The roads around there are pretty cramped, and the parking lots aren't all that big.

I believe the only Walmart in Sparks is actually in the Sparks Indian Colony, it's pretty tight getting in and a fairly small lot.. and I've got no clue if it's okay to park an RV overnight. So don't follow your GPS to that one ;-)
You don't say which direction you're coming in from/heading.. there are a lot of places one can boondock to the East of Reno both on I80 and 50.. And some north as well, not so much south until past Carson City
