- golf_bearsExplorerLauren,
Our residency is SD but like many RVers we don't live there. Came to SD this year because our driver’s licenses needed to be renewed.
We actually still have a home in Wisconsin but are on the road 9-10 months out of the year.
So, we really aren’t that familiar with the Black Hills area. Got our licenses and decided to stay in SD longer and explore the area. Any suggestions on where to stay and what to see are greatly appreciated. - Itching2goExplorer II

X2 on Rafter J. Great place!
x3 on Rafter J. We particularly liked the Ranch section as the sites are more shaded and separated. Had that 'state park campground' feel, but with full hookups. Pics are posted in the "post your campsite photos here" thread.

- LaurenExplorerRafter J - good place. All kinds of tourist traps in the area which I am sure you realize. Hey, you live 25 or so miles from Hill City; am sure you know all the tourist traps!
- padredwNomadWe stayed for a week in Custer's Gulch Campground near the town of Custer. We would go back there if we visit the area again. We enjoyed the drives through Custer State Park, and the tunnels with views of Mt. Rushmore.
more later. - brireneExplorerRafter J Bar is nice and often recommended, but there are several others in the area as well.
