We were there in 2016 and the guard wanted $25 for my dually to enter the harbor area. I kept my money and left.
What is the Harbor area and what does it have to offer? I don't have a dually but based on the other response I may be rethinking going here sounds very expensive. I never like spending money just to spend more on an attraction etc.
Where you plan on staying is not the "harbor area" some are speaking of. Harbor Town located at the south end of the island in the Sea Pines area is considered "the harbor area" even though there are a few other harbors/marina's around the island.
Hilton Head Harbor and RV Resort is at the north end of the island. The resort is a very nice and upscale and is expensive. As I said before, the sites are privately owned and you will pick out the one you want because the management can not play favorites with the owners, so they do not assign the sites.
We considered moving to HH but in the long run and lots of thinking it over it is not where we chose to live in our retirement. It is something to experience. Its not for everybody. I am serious when I said to be prepared for horrendous traffic.
