That should be an outstanding location from which to view the meteor shower. We were kindof in that Oregon Outback area a few years ago - ~25 miles North of Plush, OR - and the night skies were spectacular. Enjoy.
P.S. I'm curious - if not specifically for the meteror shower - if I may ask, what is the attraction for your camping in that area? I'd like to visit the Steens Mountain area with our RV but haven't put together a trip yet.
We have a anual trip every spring to a remote area to ride and visit. My group are members of a Honda Trail forum. This year we picked the Alvord, last yr. Moab, before that Death Valley. They come from all over the country and Canada,usually about 30 of us. A lot of the guys are from Oregon and fly PPC and it's one of there areas. So will ride are Hondas and they fly there PPC's. A real great group of guys and we always look forward to are Spring get together, I'm ready now.
