Before you reach Hite from the East on Hwy 95 there are some trail off the North side of the road. Not many great places to pull over and camp. Once you reach the Lake/River continue on about 11 miles until you come to the narrow part of the sandstone canyon. Have seen people camped under/near the trees. There are a few trails going into the slick rock. Continue on another 16 miles (almost to Hanksville) to BLM 15210 (BLM road). We camped on the West side of Hwy 95, all BLM. The trails from here to the West will take you above treeline and the trails on the East side will take you to the Dirty Colorado River. One of the best trips we ever, we had side by sides with us. Every micro climate there is in one location. Can get hot even in early May.
