Holly Ridge, NC

We will making a trip to the general area to visit friends that recently relocated to Holly Ridge, NC. We will visiting them in May of 2014. Can anyone suggest a nice camp ground in the area. Something close to the ocean would be nice.

Wife in I are in our 60's with a small dog. So - - the campground does not need to entertain us. Our fifth wheel is 34 feet in length and will want full hook ups.

    I live in the area and the beach campground mentioned, (Surf City) is pretty good. You might also consider the Wilmington KOA about 25 miles from Holly Ridge, which is nice and is more upscale. Four lane US17 goes by the campground and through Holly Ridge. Just a thought.

    There are three. One on the beach at Surf City. Surf City Family CG. It is very small. About the only thing it has is a beach. But for me. that is enough. We likw it.

    There are 2 more on the inland water way. One on Top Sail island. Black Beard's treasure. Only saw it from the road. Right on the water, but looked like it has a lot of seasonal guests.
