Home from Florida but...ready to travel again?

OK...the trip calendar is starting to fill up. One week of may in Pittsburgh, one week in June in Lancaster. Most likely head to Florida for the month of October then return to Florida in January for the winter. Now just need to get 2 or 3 more trips in between and that should satisfy my need to travel.

When I used to arrive home and asked myself within a week why I came home so early, I quit coming home. I have full-timed for twelve years and starting to think about a landing spot. I am single, so that might make a difference in my choices.

I agree John, No desire what so ever to live in a "metal box with rubber tires" 365 days a year. Love coming home and getting ground ready for a garden so I can make my sauce for the season, hope those tomatoes grow sweet this year!

Yep, I've already made reservations for a couple of trips to the COE on the lake, Fort wilderness, and a cruise.

We spend a month coming and a month going - taking a different route to see different places each time. We are pretty tired when we reach either destination and enjoy the down-time and are happy with it for the duration either North or South - but - we start getting revved up as the time nears and we start planning that next route. We make the best of being Snowbirds and enjoy it all.

Always feel that way too. You can always go on the OMS website and look at the photo gallery like I do. Couldn't have been too many left there when you left. Enjoy the summer: see you there next winter.

Use to happen after EVERY trip, long or short, so we too went full time.

About 8 years ago we downsized from our large home and now own a much smaller home in a 55+ community. That would have been the ideal time to take off and be "full timers" for a few years. Well that train left the station.

Now we are fortunate enough to be in the motorhome 5 or 6 months of the year. We do have a 7 day trip to Pittsburgh planned for the middle of May, but then nothing else on the radar at the moment.

For the next 6 weeks the routine will be catching up on doctor appointments. Then hopefully some time to relax during the summer months. However, I just remembered the "Honey Do List" has painting the master bedroom and two bathrooms.

Do you think all these doctor appointments and the "Honey Do List" has influenced me to get back on the road with the motorhome?

I would say if you are getting those feelings it is time to consider going full time.

Much of what you read on forums and magazines about full timing makes it sound like folks always sell everything and go full time for years and years. There are many ways to satisfy that "full time" traveling itch.

You could sell your home and about every else and just roam the U.S.

You could keep your home but just not use it (either long term store it or rent it out).

You could sell your home, put most of your stuff in storage, full time for 2 or 3 years while keeping your eye out for "that perfect property". Whenever you find that "perfect" property or house in that perfect place, then buy it and go back to part time RVing.

I think a lot of folks think they are too attached to their homes and they could never sell, until after they get rid of them and full time for awhile.
