Well, you can still get exhaust smell if the wind blows the wrong way. There is a little fiddling with the fuel mix when adjusting for Propane or natural gas. But, they also add a tach/hour meter to help make the adjustment and you really don't need to adjust it once you get it set, unless changing fuels. I suppose it (adjustable fuel mixture) also helps compensate for altitude issues. I have run mine on 20 pound propane tanks, and have run my 13,500 AC on it, but you can hook whatever size you want to it. I also set up quick connects at my house to the natural gas line for emergency useage.
Haven't had a problem with carburetors........
