This is a very interesting discussion on a completely different level. In the pre-internet days (remember when??), one's preference for one brand or another would be pretty hit or miss, depending on anecdotal local information. With this forum, we can instantly trade misinformation.
No, seriously. This discussion forum gives us consumers (all over the world) an easy way to pool insights and tips and tricks. Not only that, you can bet that someone at Honda (hi guys!!) is responsible for monitoring these sorts of forums to watch for trends and consumer sentiment. If the market starts to vote with its feet (and dollars) for Yamaha, or even if Honda hears that its customer base is not fully satisfied, the R&D staff will think about improving the product.
Continuing with my boring sermon, that means that products are evolving faster than ever. Companies who do not keep up with the competition fall by the wayside (see Blackberry, for example).
