How safe is Camco antifreeze

How safe is the water to drink from the rig's water lines after using Camco antifreeze for the winter storage, and then draining it for the summer season.
, We were full timers for 6 years and never had to store the rig so this is new for us. We are very cautious when it comes to food and drink and although Camco says that the antifreeze is safe so I am curious as to how others feel or deal with this. Thanks in advance for any responses. John in OR.

I put the pink stuff in in the fall. Drain it out in the spring. Flush the tank & lines once. Sanitize with bleach. Then flush two more times. Never had a problem with stinky water. We drink from the fresh water tank all the time. We drain it onto the driveway then it gets soaked up in the grass. Never had it kill the grass.

    Exactly the same here-- Randu

  • What ever you do don't let the AF drain onto your grass.
I killed a big spot one time after pulling the plug out of the water heater and having some land on my yard.
  • It's not suppose to go into the water tank. It is meant to protect the lines. A good line flush is all that is needed. If you were to ingest it, it wouldn't hurt you, as it is made using the same material that they give you to clean out you pipes (intestines) before a colonostopy.
  • I flush the lines until the water runs clear. Then don't worry about it.

    • Safe • Odorless • Tasteless • No mixing required • Non-Toxic • according to Camco.
  • Camco RV antifreeze is possibly the most commonly used RV antifreeze.
Flush. I usually flush the entire system a couple times before I turn the valves on the water-heater, then I flush the entire system one more time.
Sterilizing the system couldn't hurt, if so, flush after.
  • I do not use any antifreeze in my fresh water system.
I would strongly suggest flushing the system good. You may even want to sanitize the system with bleach before using it. Kill the bleach with baking soda. Flush system good.
