I use 6mil Raven gloves found at auto supply stores - when pulling wrenches they protect from solvent material (fuel, light oils, solvents) plus hidden benefit when you wipe them with a shop rag the oils come off so they are clean to do re-assembly...
And they keep your hands dry inside wet leather work gloves or mitts or motorcycle gloves.
If fumble fingers are ok for the job at hand I have spider grip rubber gloves with knit backs.
