my wife and the mail person was talking about camping and she mention Hunting state park just wondering if anyone has camp there?

Hunting Island State Park is one of our favorites. The area is surprisingly tropical as a destination for us "northerners". The Vietnam war scene in Forrest Gump was filmed in the "jungle" area of the park. A really great activity is to ride bikes on the hard-packed beach (towards the lighthouse) during low tide, and then ride back to the campground through the Jungle trail. When we were there in November, the campground was quite full and campers would line up at the office at 7:00 AM to try to get a beachfront site. Beaufort is 16 miles away so you should get your grocery shopping done before heading to the park.
