- lhenry8113ExplorerThere is another RV. Park in Huntington Beach called Sunset Vista. We liked it better than Bolsa Chica State Park cause it was a lot closer to Main St, Huntington Beach-walking distance. During the summer it is a parking lot next to the beach, just S. of the pier--during the winter months converted to an Rv campground, with hook-ups, right next to the beach, bike/walkig path, etc. with great ocean views. Just a thought. Lars
- kohldadExplorer IIIlhenry8113 - OP is talking about Huntington Beach State Park in SC.
Glad to hear they are opening back up so soon. Now if they can just get the nature center rebuilt from the lighening strike fire, all will be good. - wildtoadExplorer IIAs a matter of fact we are going there Sunday for a week. Will report what I see. Also concerned about all the restaurants.
- Gonzo42ExplorerThere is also Huntington Beach City park, and they are right next to each other. No overnight.
No trees, no shade. Almost impossible to get reservations for the summer unless you plan ahead for months. - Chuck_thehammerExplorerHuntington Beach State Park (SC) did a major tree trimming this past spring ( complete park ).. it might have helped.
the fire was a few weeks after we departed.
I wonder how the mansion faired? it was having structural problems. - RanduExplorerI usually spend a week there in mid December so also interested.
Randu - wildtoadExplorer IIJust arrived at site #4. All is good here at HBSP (SC). The causeway has had some damage, but just as passable as it always was. Atalaya is good. In fact they had their annual Halloween shin dig there last night. I drove around the place and seems to be fine, place is full. Will check out beach later.
Walked down to the beach using the nearby boardwalk. More beach less dune. Dunes took a beating. It if you had never been here, you might not know. - buckyExplorer IIHow did the south CG fare? It was destroyed and closed by another 'cane years ago.
It was our first camping trip to MB in June of 1980. My oldest daughter has named it Conception Point. She is now 35.
Glad to hear all is well there, it's a lot closer for us now with settlement on the new digs in NC today. - wildtoadExplorer III don't know did not go there. And like you it was the first place I camped too. But that was just before they closed it. I keep hearing rumors that they were going to rebuild it, but have no facts.
