I'm with you on this one Busskipper. We've contemplated a trip into Idaho for several years now, but have yet to make the plunge. Like many, we've seen places right around Yellowstone and along the interstates, as well as Craters of the Moon. But I want more ideas!
We have camped in the Albion Range west of Elba. Fairly steep climb into a typical high Basin and Range topography. Several NFS CG's up there before and near Lake Cleveland. South of there is http://www.nps.gov/ciro/index.htm. So Busskipper, strap on your climbing harness and get out there!
