More testing means more cases are found, so since we are do a lot more testing the number of infected will increase. That does not mean those folks are going to end up in a hospital. Many or most will not. Antibody testing all over the country has been finding that roughly 3% of the population have been infected. DFW has about 6 million population that would mean about 190,000 people have been infected if the 3% value is right for that area.
Exactly! States that have spiking deaths and virus cases are the ones in a hurry to open.

The more important number is the number of fatalities caused by the virus. But remember that there is up to a 14 day incubation period and from the time someone lands in the hospital it would take about 20 days before they perish from the virus, if they are going to of course.
So even if they let everyone return to previrus behavior you would not see a spike in fatalities for a month or so. If it was going to occur that is.
