....I think we have to look at this differently: ....it appears that huge cohorts have been flocking to "social media" since Facebook was invented; tablets, laptops and desktop computers are on their way out (ie. their sales are really falling, and falling dramatically); Google writes that somewhere around 50% + of all searches are conducted from smart phones today (this is why Google is developing its mobile-first index system; Google's current indexing system is desk-top genre...not good! But Google has realized this).
...all the above begs the question: are "desk-top genre" Forums morphing to mobile phone device-friendly "apps" fast enough (or, at all) ?
It looks like (to me) that (a) laptop/desktop/tablet computing platforms are coming to a rapid end; (b) the future of computing is via pocket-sized smart-phone platform (all running "app" specific software)...so, are static Forum owners planning for this quick enough?
Anyhow, this is how I see it...your "vision" may differ :B
