We are not weeks long dry campers. We dry camp but usually just for 2-7 nights at a time. We don't have solar. We use a Honda 2000W gen. Solar would be nice but it won't work as fast or be as reliable as our gen. I have looked into getting solar and eventually will. It won't be some big mega buck setup, just something in the 150-200 watt range along with 225-260 AH batteries. We currently have two Interstate G24 12V batteries. With our use during the day they last 2 days on there own. I will run the gen for 1-2 hrs around dinner as that seems to be the noisiest time of the day. I have a long 10-3 cord that I plug into the 5er shore power cord so that I can place the gen as far away as possible. It works well for us as my batteries are never depleted.
I would like to add solar so I wouldn't have to run the gen as often. It won't be cost effective but it will be easier. But for now the our gen will have to do the job.
