Jacksonville FL, Where!!!

Never been here, but perhaps some can comment on this place - Brynmar Ocean Resort

I have heard about it from a few folks, but never stayed there yet.

North Beach Camp Resort, great location across the street from the beach.

Bryn Mawr is on the ocean and in town. You can catch a trolley at the entrance.

Older ownership park with tight spots but on the ocean.

Ocean Grove is good on the Intracoastal.

We often stay at Stage Coach. Nothing special but clean and less expensive.

Anastasia State Park is great but hard to get a reservation. We are

We stop at Stagecoach RV Park every year and have never been disappointed. All pull thru lots and close to I95.

We just got back from St. Augustine. Stayed at North Beach RV Camp. It was our first time and we liked it. Very well maintained. The roads and sites are packed sand since it is in a beach area, but they are well packed. A mix of pull thru and back in sites available. Big rig friendly. Bathrooms are dated and can be a walk, but we don't use those facilities so it was not a problem for us.

The park is located between the river and the ocean. The River sites have a beautiful view and are close to Aunt Katie's which is a nice little restaurant that the park owns. The park is not right on the ocean, but the ocean is right across the street, AIA. You can hear the ocean at night from a lot of the sites. Nice beach - dog friendly with another restaurant, The Reef also owned by the park on that side. A little more dressy although more dated than Aunt Katie's.

It is not a bad drive into the historic district. Parking and traffic can be challenging in St. Augustine. We parked at the Trolley near Fountain of Youth and paid for the on & off trolley as a way to get around the city and hear a little about the city. Pass is good for two days.

We drive a Ram 3500 Crewcab longbed dually pulling a 38 ft. 5th wheel. We drove down to check out Anastasia and I found that we are too big to fit comfortably in any of their sites.

We would recommend North Beach RV Camp.

I' not local but saw this might work - we generally tend to stay further north in Hilton Head - look into the Marina Resort - not the Beach but the Sunsets are to Die for

In addition to North Beach in St. Augustine (not really beach front, you have to cross the street) , Ft. Clinch State Park on Amelia Island outside of Jax has beach front sites that are big rig friendly.

North Beach is a GREAT campground. Its about 25 miles south of Jacksonville Beach, beautiful drive up the road through some beautiful nature preserves and expensive beachfront communities. North Beach is beautiful too, lush tropical vegetation between sites provide for privacy and keep your site cool in the hot summers. Its a 3 minute walk up the driveway to the Atlantic beach right across the street, its a 4 minute walk down the driveway to the river beach.

North Beach is quiet, close to Jacksonville and St Augustine, close to a Publix grocery store and close to the water. Just be advised, it is sandy EVERYWHERE. Have a good mat outside your camper and leave your shoes on your steps or you will be chasing sand for the rest of the year!
