Jacksonville Naples/Ft. Meyers Campground Recommendation?

I have seen numerous posts in the past on whether reservations are needed. There are always multiple responses from people that state something like " we have been camping xx number of years, never made reservations and always found a spot", What are those people doing in a situation like this?
