JAX-NAS requires stickers - Kings Bay requires stickers. Retired or not, still requires all vehicles ... Car, truck, MC, RV, Toad. Anything with an engine and a registration plate.
JAX NAS did not require stickers for retirees when we were there last March. Read my previous posts. We spent about 10 days there, came and went thru the gates several times a day, had an expired sticker on my truck, waved thru after showing ID every time. I asked the gate security about it and he said retirees don't need a sticker. I went to Pass and ID to get another sticker and they wouldn't issue one saying retirees don't need a sticker.
Kings Bay may still require a sticker but JAX NAS didn't.
Additionally we were at the Joint Reserve base in Belle Chase (New Orleans) last month and they told us they only require an ID card and no longer check vehicle stickers.
I went into the KB Sub-base today - asked at the gates, CNO has now stopped sticker requirement since July on all navy bases. It must have been just about then that we renewed stickers. So, at that time, it was required.
Security office stated it is now up the the CO of any base to issue and require stickers, but is no longer a service wide requirement. That's as of today - based on my experience, it could change tomorrow. :)
