Jasper’s Glacier Skywalk ready for visitors next May

Thanks. DW was not too happy about her hair in that shot, but the wind was blowing at about 40 mph -- no kidding. Thankfully, the wind was blowing us back onto the cliff, not off of it!!

I don't object to this project at all -- it is right at the Icefield Centre, near the glacier tour facility -- and it provides a good vantage point over the glacier for folks who are not able to hike.

If you are able to hike, you can climb up to Wilcox Pass and look down at the glacier:



Thank goodness, DW and I can still do that. But there will come a time, soon enough, when we can't. When that time comes, I would probably pay to use a viewing platform, if there is no other alternative.

I wouldn't pay 25 bucks to walk out on that thing.
What's it do, get you 50 feet closer to the mountains that are 10 miles away.

Remember this was built by the low bidder!!! :D

Guess ole Marc Chiasson hasn't been to the Grand Canyon and seen the Skywalk there “It’s a-one-of-a kind project. The design of it, I don’t think we’ll ever see something similar, at least in my lifetime.”
