The lighthouse is in the village on St. Simons Island, which is only a few minutes away from Jekyll. We love walking around the village, pier and lighthouse and think the best restaurants are on St Simons. If you enjoy history, I recommend visiting Fort Frederica on St. Simons...the huge live oaks draped in spanish moss are majestic. If you stop at the visitor's center as soon as you get on the causeway, they'll give you a map so you can see what all is there. On Jekyll, one of our favorite things to do is walk or bicycle through the Historic District....so beautiful and full of interesting history. Also enjoy going to Clam Creek, Pier and Driftwood Beach, which is right across from the campground. We almost always see horses on the beach. If you have bikes, take them...Jekyll Island is excellent for riding bikes. Jennifer
