Jenny Wiley State Park KY

We will be going to Jenny Wiley State Park in three weeks from Orlando, Fl. I have been told to avoid Loops B & C with a large RV. I see by the map that there are two ways into the state park. Anyone been there and have any suggestions as to the best way to get in to the park. We will be camping in the "A" section of pull thru's . We will be pulling a 39 foot 5th wheel. Thanks !

We go there quite a bit. I assume what you are talking about is the entrance to the campground. Stay on US 23 North, do not take the US23-Route 80 turnoff that goes around the lake, and Conference Center. Go to the US23 turnoff that exits to the Highlands Hospital. This exit is a few miles up 23 North about 6 miles from the US23/Route80 junction. Your mapquest will show it, or your GPS will take you from there.

Had a few problems on the way up (blow outs on the fiver), so it put us coming in after dark and rain and wind. So thankful that we came in by the second entrance. Appreciate your confirmation and help on the route. Really nice park. We stayed a week !
  • Thanks Glazier, am really looking forward to it and will be geocaching the Hatfield McCoy geotrail !!
  • Yes I was talking about the entrance to the campground. The second entrance was what I had planned from mapquest. I just wanted some confirmation since I had never been in the area and didn't want to get myself in a bind. Thanks so much for both of the replies !!!

  • Sorry I can't help you with which entrance is best because we just went into the park straight from the parkway, but I just wanted to let you know that the elk tours have started back and can be pretty neat if you have never seen them. To the top so maybe someone has more information on which entrance would be best for you! Enjoy your stay in Kentucky!
