P.S. I just found out about the Alpine Coaster in Gatlinburg, TN. Wish I would have know about it last summer when we were there.

We did it. it was up on the ski hill (Ober-Gatlinburg). you took the tram up to the top then went to the coaster. it was OK, nothing too special!

We prefer taking I57 to I24 avoid I65 too much traffic and Indianapolis and Louisville can be a pita.

On our way home from the Smoky's we stopped at Mammoth Cave!

Depends which route and what type of stops you mean. Overnight campgrounds are plentiful; just pick one. Assuming you'll eventually get to 75, we like stopping at the Kentucky Artisan center in Berea for a quick meal, coffee, and to look at the local items for sale.
