If you take I24, Metropolis (IL) is the home of Superman. Nashville has lots of stuff to see and do, I recommend spending at least half a day for a city tour and grab some lunch/dinner at one of the local establishments with live entertainment.

P.S. I just found out about the Alpine Coaster in Gatlinburg, TN. Wish I would have know about it last summer when we were there.

We did it. it was up on the ski hill (Ober-Gatlinburg). you took the tram up to the top then went to the coaster. it was OK, nothing too special!

  • We prefer taking I57 to I24 avoid I65 too much traffic and Indianapolis and Louisville can be a pita.
  • Depends which route and what type of stops you mean. Overnight campgrounds are plentiful; just pick one. Assuming you'll eventually get to 75, we like stopping at the Kentucky Artisan center in Berea for a quick meal, coffee, and to look at the local items for sale.
