Let's operate under the premise you can afford to go.
If you can afford to go, there needs to be no justification.
If you cannot afford The Fort that is a whole different conversation.
You have to assign a value to the taste difference (or for the OP the pros & cons of camping vs hoteling).
For me: If a vanilla cone is $1.50 and chocolate is $5.00, I can justify based on cost. Chocolate is not that much better.
That's a very rational justification.
Likewise, the OP needs to look at the trade offs. It's not always the cheapest option that wins out but you will make far better decisions if you go about it logically.
