There is at least one campground, maybe two, in Russell, Kansas, right off the interstate. The one I stayed at in 2011 is within sight of I-70. it isn't a grand campground, but has hookups.
I limped into the campground with a blown oil line to my turbocharger, and sort of crashed there for several days while my Jeep was getting repaired at the dealer in Hayes. The folks running that campground were most gracious and allowed me to do an emergency wash to get the black diesel oil off the camper in spite of a "no RV washing" rule. They even helped me out with some degreaser soap -- that stuff is hard to get off without leaving a stain. They are about two miles west the Rest Area at which I discovered the cracked line (Thank goodness I had a 5 quart jug of oil in the back -- nearly all of which blew out in those two miles.)
