Key West Bugs in December/January?

We'll be camping at Bluewater Key in December/January. Are bugs an issue this time of year? Do I need to plan to take my thermocells or anything like that?

We were in Key West about 4 years ago second week of January and I do not recall bugs being a problem then. Have a good trip!!
