Kings Dominion in VA this weekend- Americamps/KOA?

I can't find a CG with better ratings that's within a reasonable driving distance, ie under and hour. I'm coming from Cary NC, about 3 hours south and don't want to go any further north of this. I'm ready to book it today, just thought I'd see if anyone knew of one that's not showing up on RVparkreviews. We do want FHU's as we need to leave Sunday in a timely manner, meaning we don't want to deal with a dump station line.

Never stayed in the camps close to King Dominion... I imagine you can get some good added amenities for King Dominion staying there..

If it is full up the Fredericksburg KOA near Thornburg VA is nice - somewhat on the small camp site size but has a nice stream on one end of it. This is just a couple exits north of Kings Dominion.

We go to the Westmoreland State Park at Montross VA alot and it is our so called home camp ground. It is probably too far North and East for Kings Dominion however...

There are a couple of nice camp grounds right on the Lake Orange that are nice and not too far away from Kings Dominion.

The Kings Dominion area Camp ground and two RV CAMPS SOUTH of Kings Dominion you identifed are probably best deal if you can get into them

I bet Kings Dominion fills up pretty quick - don't wait too long...

  • Americamps is a decent place. I believe it is now a KOA. It is well run . You will have no issues other than KOA pricing
Do you not want to stay at the Kings Dominion campground?
  • We stay at the Americamps KOA every year when we head to Myrtle Beach - easy to get to and very friendly staff - clean campground.

They give good sam and koa discounts
