The sites closer to the park (with US state names) are indeed smaller according to my memory too. Canada sites are further away but larger. I think I ended up in Nova Scotia when I was there last, and there was decent room. Maneuvering in and out may be a bit of a challenge if the people in the site across are parked inconsiderately, but for the most part that doesn't seem to happen too much.
More generally, the campground is a well-run operation and they generally wouldn't direct you someplace you wouldn't fit. It isn't a place with exquisite amenities or fancy sites, but it is clean and well-kept and entirely adequate, and the amusement park is exceptional. If you haven't been to it before, you're in for a treat.
