I choose KOAs because they're a known quantity. I haven't been in one in over 10 years that didn't meet my needs which is a FHU, pull thru site and WIFI. Cable is a bonus. I've been asked if I wanted a spot near the pool, or playground or the fenced dog walking area. No, no and no. Since I won't be using them, no need to take a spot for someone that does want them. OTOH, one KOA had a picnic table at each site and the morning paper was on it each morning. That's an extra that I appreciated. As locals, the owners also seem to know what to see and do in the area, and what to avoid. I've gotten some good tips that way.
