Good Sams ERS=Ridiculous!!!!

Great outcome...did he mention if they were going to look at the pricing of the tire as was quoted to you?

Just a reminder that I was not asking or expecting any response or anything from Good Sam.
That's not what this topic was about.
I was sharing my experience and frustration with the people of the Forum
Today I spoke with Zach from Good Sam and we had a pleasant discussion about my experience and frustration.
Zach was very apologetic and professional and we both agreed that this was a learning experience for both of us.
Again, I wasn't looking to get anything from this, except maybe being lectured about policy and procedure. WHICH IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED. Just to be clear.
Good Sam is going to look into this further on there end so something like this doesn't happen again.
What he did next was above and beyond great customer service.
Zach said that Good Sam will reimburse for the tire and extend our membership a year.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you Zach and Good Sam.

I was actually doing some research today and considering joining ERS. After reading this thread and others, I'm not sure yet... The devil is always in the details...

From all the post I have seen in the past,GSERS is nothing more than a tow or to locate someone to send out. They really do not provide any roadside service other than locating someone for you and you can do the same with a GPS. When I had my MH my roadside was with Progressive Ins. I blew a tire, called them, they sent someone and payed all labor charges. I payed for tire. That's what roadside service is. GS is nothing more than a over priced locater service.

Latest update. They apparently called my wife yesterday (7-19) wanting to "go over their policy".

When you let someone down. Do you think they really want to be lectured to about POLICY.
Events like this should CHANGE policy or at least procedure.
And another thing.....
They asked me for MY CONTACT INFORMATION....I.E. Phone#,E-mail,best time to call,etc.
Then why in the HECK are you calling my wife in the middle of the day to tell her to have me call YOU so we can go over policy..
What is wrong with you people, ERS!!!
You really know how to make things WORSE.
Get your recorders ready because I'll be calling you back for sure and when i do, be ready, because I'm bringing Hell with me.
This now has nothing to do about some spare tire incident.
It has now be raised to a level of cowardice expressed by Good Sam ERS.

This is an exercise in Sharing my experience and expressing my disappointment with ERS.
If I wanted ANYTHING from them I would have provided a list of demands, But I didn't.
If anyone gets anything out of this it should be ERS.
They are in a Niche industry and the supposed "Experts" at what they do.
Not some start up "newcomer who is figuring this all out as they go along.
Now I'm sure there are allot(??) of people out there who are members that will wax on for days about the wonders and beauty of "Godg Sam ERS", but don't be surprised when they throw you across the hood and try to violate you and your intelligence.
They are supposed to be the "EXPERTS' In their field. I didn't know extortion was one of them.
They need to learn to problem solve and empower/train their employers to think on their feet and maybe suggest other ways to resolve the problem.
If one solution is not acceptable, suggest another avenue or method in handling the situation.
When I posed this problem to another Roadside service (AAA) they offered several options/solutions to my problem.
Let me give another example of great service.

The wife comes out to her car after a day at work and her car turn over slowly and wont start and then doesn't turn over at all.
She thinks she may have left something on and thinks the battery to be dead.
She calls her roadside assistance and tells her story.
The roadside company suspects a DEAD battery and takes down her vehicle information and explains to her that if it requires replacing that they can supply a battery, but there will be a charge of $100.
The roadside company sends out a unit that is equipped to handle such emergencies.
As it turns out the battery is tested dead and requires replacement.
Well they unit is carrying a replacement(because they got her car info in the beginning) and exchanges the battery and charges her the $100 and once everything is good the wife in on her way for the cost of $100.
The End

Now she may have been charged a marked-up price, but it was a fair one, not a 400% markup
She also wasn't charged and installation fee, because it was covered by her and EVERYONE else's membership fees.
Now if she was charged a labor charge it may have been at the standard "Shop Rate" which currently runs between $90-$110.

In the end Good Sam ERS needs to learn something from this and I hope they do.
If it does NOTHING for me, maybe it will for the next guy.
