Got hit with a $65/night charge at Devils Tower KOA and the same at Bozeman KOA(walked out) and I see St Mary's KOA is now $60. No more KOA for us
Well while you might consider them expensive, they seem to keep them fairly full at the prices they are asking and while I don't use the amenities they often offer I find them competitive with other campground that are similarly located with the same level of amenities.
Larry - majorgatorExplorerInflation.
People aren't camping in $3K tin boxes with no amenities anymore. The typical camper (RV'er) is more sophisticated and has more needs for creature comforts than ever before, therefore the price per night apparently must follow suit. - kgragertExplorerIf you have a smart phone, install RV Parky.
It will find parks based on your location, or you can enter a city/zip.
It has prices, reviews, phone numbers, and links to the park website if it has one. - dodge_guyExplorer IIHMM! I booked a site in the U.P. on Lake superior W/E lake site $34 a night with great views (and hopefully the 'Aurora borealis'). we are staying at a KOA in Hayward WI. FHU and about $55 a night. staying at a Jellystone in Fremont WI. $57 FHU.
- kknowltonExplorer IIAgreed, most of them are getting more expensive. The KOAs the OP chose are in prime tourist areas, so no wonder the price was high. A KOA value card (or for Good Sam parks, a GS membership) can help lower that price a bit.
- abc40kidsExplorerWe camped this past Memorial Day at $85.00 a night and this 4th of July will be $85.00 a night. Local KOA we were at right before Memorial Day was in the $60.00 range.
Any more a decent cg is gonna be 65 or better and if it's cheap it probably shows. - mdcampingExplorerI just booked a campground in CT for $60 per night for the July 4th weekend.... I feel lucky I got that price! (W/E only too)
Mike - Army11BravoExplorer IIKOA parks charges vary seasonally. We enjoy them and choose KOA campgrounds about a third of the time. The prices include lots of amenities, especially for kids.
- CroweExplorerMany campgrounds have gotten very expensive, not just KOA. Do your research before you leave or pull in to a campground so you get no surprises.
